A Personal Assistant (PA) is paid to help an individual in any aspect of day to day life. In most cases, they are employed by the individual, who will pay tax and National Insurance contributions for them.
A PA employed by an individual has Employment rights and is entitled to holidays and sick pay. The terms and conditions of work such as start and finish times and hours of work are agreed at the start of the Employment, just like in any other job.
A Direct Payment is social care funding from the Local Authority, which can be spent to meet an individual’s needs in the way they choose.
Direct Payments allow individuals to receive money from the Local Authority to pay for the care and support that they have identified as right for them.
Do you have a service to offer?
We have a dedicated services page for businesses and organisations to share what services the provide.
PA Profiles can receive a verified tick on their profiles if they provide a reference, hold a valid and up to enhanced DBS check and are willing to obtain a DBS Live account with a new employer. All this is approved by the Derbyshire PA Register Team.
Disclaimer: As the employer, is it your responsibility to obtain and check DBS and References. We recommend obtaining a new DBS for a new employee.
